The foundation for our Chapter began in late 2002 when a handful of professionals involved in Iowa’s mail and distribution industry began discussing the creation of a professional organization where we could leverage our collective knowledge, learn more about our industry and keep abreast of changes and innovations. The Kansas City Chapter of the MSMA was kind enough to take us under its wings as one of their branches in 2003 and the rest, as they say, is history.  We left the Kansas City Chapter’s warm nest and became a full-fledged chapter in 2006.

Our membership includes representatives of private employers, public entities, as well as vendors of products and services who supply the mail and distribution industry.  We’re proud of our diverse membership and believe our Chapter provides a positive way for Iowans involved in the industry to come together and learn from each other.

With our industry constantly changing and the tools we use improving at a fast pace, keeping up remains an ongoing challenge.  As quickly as we learn and teach our teams something new, something newer is around the corner.  Participation in MSMA keeps you abreast of the industry and provides helpful contacts to tap when you have questions or want to improve your processes.  Leaders in our are industry are required to run efficient operations that provide aggressive service delivery guarantees at minimum cost.  Savings generated in mail and distribution typically drop to the bottom-line and provide immediate impact so learning better, faster and cheaper ways of doing things is critical.  Ongoing education is the hallmark of MSMA and our industry certifications remain the gold standard of accreditation of the broad-based knowledge required for success in the mail and distribution industry.
